Conservative radio talk host Rush Limbaugh was rushed to a Honolulu hospital on Wednesday afternoon with chest pains, officials said.
Paramedics responded to the call at 2:41 p.m. at the Kahala Hotel and Resort, sources told Honolulu television station KITV.
Paramedics treated him and took him to Queen's Medical Center where he is in serious condition.

Caring is on a different level than publicly stating that you wish ill will against someone.
I just don't want this thread to turn into a pissing match. It's a news thread about a prominent radio personality and it should be treated as such

He would not received a doctorate from the Clinic but might have done his cardiac residency there.
It might not be a bad thing that he has this problem now...when his treatment can be decided by his "Yale educated", Cleveland Clinic trained, cardiac surgeon...and not a couple of years from now by a pencil necked government bureaucrat.

I doubt Limbaugh would care about the skin color of any potential surgeon. He only would care about his skill.

He'll be getting the best care available I'm sure.

Radio Personality of the Decade (http://www.bestofthe2000s.com/radio-personality-of-the-decade.html)
Like the article says love him or hate him no one can deny his influence on American talk radio. Rush can single-handily be credited for saving the AM radio band from the abyss.
Speedy recovery, Rush. Dittos.

Ronald Reagan, on the gurney heading into surgery for the operation to save his life after the abortive assassination attempt, was recorded by those in attendance as saying.."I hope you guys are all Republicans." I would say that Rush would be of that mindset. I don't wish him any ill will, but he is a hard man to agree with.

If Rush wants to get better he should cut out the "high fructose corn syrup" and then exercise something besides his mouth.

You may not agree with him but no one can deny his success...right (hic), Ted?

I don't deny him anything, He should deny himself the extra 7 trips to the buffet. The Oxycontin abuse probably hasn't done him any favors either.
ps-you might want to check your photobucket account (looks like you use it about as much as Rush uses his gym membership.)

Yep. He is also a former drug addict now saying we should send drug addicts to foreign countries!! Which one can we send him to?
"Drug use, some might say, is destroying this country. And we have laws against selling drugs, pushing drugs, using drugs, importing drugs. And the laws are good because we know what happens to people in societies and neighborhoods which become consumed by them. And so if people are violating the law by doing drugs, they ought to be accused and they ought to be
convicted and they ought to be sent up."
-- Rush Limbaugh. October 5, 1995 show transcript.
"What this says to me is that too many whites are getting away with drug use, too many whites are getting away with drug sales, too many whites are getting away with trafficking in this stuff. The answer to this disparity is not to start letting people out of jail because we're not putting others in jail who are breaking the law. The answer is to go out and find the ones who are getting away with it, convict them and send them up the river, too."
-- Rush Limbaugh. October 5, 1995 show transcript.
"It's kind of like sentencing. A lot of people say that we have a heavy sentence for this crime and a light sentence for another crime, and what we ought to do is reduce the heavy sentence so it's more in line with the other. Wrong. In most cases we ought to increase the light sentence and make it compatible with the heavy sentence, and be serious about punishment because we are becoming too tolerant as a society, folks, especially of crime, in too many parts of the country."
-- Rush Limbaugh. October 5, 1995 show transcript.

Rush Limbaugh is pretty much like everyone else. He follows the philosophy of "do as I say and not as I do.". His friends deny he is like this and his enemies drag him over the coals for it. So where does it all leave us? Usually in the middle of a political campaign.

the drug addict comment was not meant to ridicule him for his drug problem. It was meant to show him to be the arrogant hypocrite that he is.
I certainly won't ever propose that all anarchist drug users be removed from MY country That would be the pot callin the kettle black. I'm also not arrogant enough to say who should and should not be permitted to live where they choose.

Rush's ability to make a good living being a 'blowhard" doesn't justify the type of person he is. It only demonstrates that POLITICALLY he strikes a chord with a very significant number of Americans who agree with him - hence his huge listening audience.
His unfortunate hypocrisy with regard to his former substance abuse only proves he's human...something you "feel free to do whatever you want as long as it doesn't harm me" leftists claim to appreciate.

Again, this has nothing to do with the type of person he is. History is filled with slimy people who have struck a chord with a large audience. I'm not sure what you're trying to drive at here. People are saying Rush is a blowhard and you're saying "well lots of people like him." Cool story bro, no one's disputing that.

I wouldn't describe myself as a leftist. But it's fascinating that you like to identify anyone who would possibly disagree with Rush(or yourself?) as a leftist. Is Rush that critical to Republican/conservative thought that one has to side with him to label themselves as anything other than a leftist?

I just don't see how Rush's "you are un-American if your poilitics aren't like mine" routine is helping anything. There always will be differences in political veiws. A guy with a mouth as big and influential as his could use it to not make the two sides hate one another.
If he's concerned only with being controversial for ratings sake then he is a sell-out, and not many appreciate someone who will say whatever will make a buck. At least be true to yourself.
And if he really is the kind of person who wants to drive the wedge further between AMERICANS then that makes him pretty low too.

Relevant or not, It's the TRUTH. Most americans think Rush Limbaugh is just another political lap dog shill blurring the lines between debate and hate. Don't get too bent up about it, he's not alone, Michael Moorer, Sean Hannity & groups like PETA also fall into this category.
It's always unproductive when the "debate & compromise" atmosphere gets replaced by the "Your with me or against me" attitude. Both parties are guilty of this and their greaseball pundits, like Rush & Moorer get rich stoking the fires. Whether you consider yourself conservative or liberal, don't drink the Kool-Aid, think for yourself. Remember, Rush & Mikey make the Kool-Aid for financial gain, not to help fix this countries problems.
