The Last Game

I know it’s hard to deal with the cold, wet, and nasty last game of the regular season. It seems like it has been this way for the last 4 or 5 years. It almost seems as a right of passage. We as observers can wine and moan about the seating and parking situation, maybe we didn’t like the play called in a given situation or the way the Coach manages the clock.

But we as observers have forgotten how time passes when we are on the field on a Friday night under the lights.

Don't forget to join the OC NFL Pick 'em league

Just a reminder that the NFL season kicks off tonight and there is still time to join the 2011 OC NFL Pick 'em League. All picks for the week must be turned in before the first game so if you don't join and make your picks before the game tonight you will lose a weeks worth of possible points.

And we're back...

It was a long night with little sleep and a swollen hand (don't punch immovable objects) but the forum is back up and running. This will teach me to be a little more careful when messing around with the server. Also, to take more regular database backups. I am still working on some caching that will make the site faster for both anonymous and authenticated users so you'll continue to see changes made throughout the day. If the site doesn't load just wait a second and refresh and it will hopefully be back. If it doesn't come back, well, God help us all.

I think I broke it...

I've been trying to tune the server for performance and somehow one of the main database tables for the forums crashed. I am trying to figure out a solution but it might be a while before the forums are back up. I apologize for the inconvenience.

The new (beta) Ohio Chatter...

The high school football season kicks off this week and with that brings some new features to the OC.

The first change is the statewide scoreboard. This scoreboard is community driven and will rely on everyone posting scores as they get them for it to work. With so many games around the state it would be impossible for just a few people to keep up to date. Updating a score is easy. Just click the "update score..." link and enter in a score. If you are updating the score before it's a final just select which quarter the game is currently in. Once it is a final it can be updated again.
